EU Security and Intelligence Awareness

Successful completion of the Pilot Course: “EU Security and Intelligence Awareness”

We are pleased to share that on 13 and 14 May 2025 under the auspices of the European Security and Defence College, the Intelligence College in Europe (ICE), in collaboration with the ‘Mihai Viteazul’ National Intelligence Academy, successfully delivered a pilot course on ‘EU Security and Intelligence Awareness’. This initiative brought together security and intelligence professionals from across the EU. We extend our sincere thanks to François Fischer, Director of the Permanent Secretariat of ICE, Arnaud Coupry, Deputy Director of the of the Permanent Secretariat of ICE and Cristina Ivan, Director of the National Institute for Intelligence Studies at the ‘Mihai Viteazul’ National Intelligence Academy, for their leadership and commitment in making this course possible.

The course aimed to foster policy-level dialogue on emerging security threats while providing participants with practical knowledge in the field of intelligence and security. Key topics included the structure and practices of European security and intelligence institutions, societal resilience against Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI), counter-espionage, cyber threats, and the relevant EU legal frameworks. With active engagement from a broad range of EU officials and member state representatives, the event was a resounding success. We look forward to continuing our cooperation with ICE and the ‘Mihai Viteazul’ National Intelligence Academy to strengthen Europe’s collective security, intelligence awareness
