+++ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗦𝗗𝗖 +++

🇪🇺 We are delighted to share that the Member States have elected Fergal Ó Regan as the new Head of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC) for a three-year mandate, to be appointed by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

Having successfully led the ESDC as Acting Head over the past year and a half, Mr O’Regan now takes on this role with the full confidence and strong support of the Member States. He stated that under his leadership, the College will continue to evolve in response to Europe’s security and defence needs.

The selection process brought forward a number of outstanding candidates from across Europe. This is a clear reflection of the pivotal role the ESDC plays, the potential its stakeholder see in it, and its overall strong reputation across the EU security and defence community. We sincerely thank all applicants for their dedication, professionalism, and willingness to serve, as well as their home Member States and institutions for putting them forward.

We look forward to the next chapter of the ESDC’s journey under Mr O’Regan’s leadership.
