Since 2019, the Berlin Climate and Security Conference (BCSC) has been the leading global forum on climate change, peace and security. This year's eighth edition, "𝗔 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆", brings together governments, international organisations, researchers and practitioners to find practical solutions to today's climate security challenges. 💡
We are proud to that our Climate Change, Environment, Security and Defence Configuration (CCESD) participates this year.
Together with the Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency and the European Centre of Excellence for Civilian Crisis Management, we co-hosted the session:
🛠️ 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲
exploring practical ways to integrate climate-security considerations into trainings, exercises, and operations.
That is exactly where the ESDCs’ dedicated Climate Change, Environment, Security and Defence Configuration comes in. As the EU's network for security and defence training and education, we make sure climate-security risk awareness is embedded in the way we prepare civilian and military personnel for tomorrow's challenges. 🌱🛡️
Climate security is not a future threat, it is today's reality. The ESDC is proud to help build the resilience the EU needs. 🇪🇺
